This program requires a Pentium 90 Mhz or better and a video card with 256 colors and 800 X 600 resolution. But suggested requirements say a 200 Mhz Pentium and a graphics card capable of 24  bit color at 1024 X 768. These requirements give you a much bigger workspace and much better looking pictures. If you have a digital camera you can directly insert you pictures into this program with the drivers for 120 cameras on the CD.

       This program has more input and output files than any other program I have tested. If you have a picture file this program will let you view it, work on it, and save as another file type. When using the program to fix scanned or Digital camera photos just a few keystrokes are necessary to get a good looking photo. This program will allow you to make your individual choices as well. It has a full array of filters for changing the look of the picture like blur, mosaic, and sharpen. You can enlarge your workspace to do pixel  by pixel changes, sometimes this is the only way to get the job done. With this program you can create layers to make your changes on and has a multiple undo feature. You can also add text and text attached to an object for that professional look.

        Paint Shop Pro has a built in browser  which gives you thumbnail images of your images prior to loading. On the same CD is a program called Animation Shop 2 where you can build animated banners to get a good look for your web pages.

         On the overall I feel that Paint Shop Pro 6.0 by JASC Software has become one of the programs that I go to first to get the job done right with the least effort. This program is one of the best graphics manipulation programs I have seen.
